Hamilton Bank Board of Directors and friend of Mr. Virgil Miller
This scholarship was established in memory of Mr. Virgil Kyle Miller. Mr. Miller was a certified public accountant with a bachelor's degree from Tennessee Technological University. He was also a graduate of Tennessee School of Banking at Vanderbilt University. At the time of his death, Mr. Miller was serving as president of Hamilton Bank where he had been employed for 15 years. Mr. Miller worked his way up the ranks beginning as an assistant cashier and advancing to the bank board of directors before he was named CEO. In the community, Miller was active in the Morristown Rotary Club and local Junior Achievement projects. He was named Lion of the Year in 1974 and Boss of the Year in 1983-1984 by the Southern Belles Chapter of the American Business Womens Association.
