Phi Theta Kappa Honorary Society, Walters State staff, and the Stambaugh family
The Frances P. Stambaugh/ PTK Memorial Scholarship was initiated by the Phi Theta Kappa Honorary Society in conjunction with Loretta Lyle, Louise Dyer, and the Stambaugh family as a token of appreciation of Ms. Stambaugh's leadership as Director of Counseling at Walters State and advisor to the Phi Theta Kappa Honorary Society. Before coming to Walters State, Ms. Stambaugh was a chemist at Oak Ridge and Enka. Later, she taught school in the Hamblen County School system. This scholarship is awarded to a sophomore who is a member in good standing of the Phi Theta Kappa Honorary Society.
