Robert B. Medlin
The Della Jeffers Medlin Scholarship was established by Walters State Foundation's Executive Committee to honor the memory of Mrs. Della Jeffers Medlin, who was primarily responsible for Morristown's selection as the site of one of the state's 10 community colleges. She served as a member of Walters State's Community Advisory Council and foundation Board of Trustees. In addition, Mrs. Medlin helped establish the State Area Vocational Technical School and the Tennessee Vocational Training Center in Morristown and was a founder of the local Girls Club. Among many other accomplishments, Mrs. Medlin served as local past president and district governor of Pilot International. Mrs. Medlin, former First Lady of Morristown and winner of a Service to Mankind Award, was the wife of former Hamblen County Sherriff Bob Medlin.
