Allie Pearl Bayless Doggett
The Doggett Scholarship is established as a testamentary gift from the estate of Mrs. Doggett. Mrs. Doggett was known for her care and concern for the welfare of others. It was her last request that the vast majority of her estate be donated to Walters State because of its commitment to the people of the Hamblen and surrounding counties and because of the consistent academic quality the college has provided over the years. According to her last will and testament, "preference in the award of scholarships funded by the income generated by this bequest shall be given to children of the members of St. Paul Presbyterian Church and children of the residents of the Lowland Community." This scholarship is intended to benefit students of all ages and does not require a specific field of study.
